I also met Dean Last week, who very kindly travelled down to Leicester to aid my sick koi. The knowledge base of this guy is amazing ! and, he is very willing to share that knowledge with you, even down to using a black plastic plant name tag, so it’s much easier to see the mucous sample !! after taking the scrape. He ran full pond and water tests, details of which were e mailed to me. After taking scrapes he found both Costa and flukes. Gave detailed amounts of the meds required, and when to repeat dosage. Koi now looking much happier, and continuing to improve, I thought I would have lost him. If you’r having issues you can’t solve yourself ! he’s your man. Many thanks again Dean much appreciated !! What can I say about this guy… amazing 5* customer service, came to my home late on Monday as an emergency! (I live in south Northumberland so not a 2 minute drive away) I was loosing 2 of my babies after already loosing some and given bad advice on how to treat! I knew I had to act to save them and very fortunate I did! After scrapes revealed my pond has 3 of the 4 killer parasites!!! If it wasn’t for Dean and his expert advice and guidance I was going to loose them all! Currently half way through treatments and they seem to be doing well now.

After having finally cleared white spot which had killed 2 of my fish, I was still having problems with some of them flashing and sulking so I decided to give Dean a call.
I’m glad I did, Dean came to visit and carried out a full health check on my water and fish, he found the chlorine levels in my pond to be high (although I always use a dechlorinator) and he identified some flukes on my fish which i had missed.
Dean has a wealth of knowledge and expertise and is happy to pass this on, he was so helpful in demonstrating the best techniques for scraping fish and preparing slides, sedating and treating wounds along with recommending the best treatments/medications to use.
I learnt a lot during his visit and would definately recommend him to anyone having problems with their pond/fish

I can’t recommend dean and the koi clinic enough! Such a great knowledge of koi care and problem solving, I’m new to owning koi and had a few problems with my pond and a couple of koi showing marks, and knew there was something wrong, I gave dean a ring and he came out after travelling a long distance to get to us! Spent 3 hours thoroughly checking our water levels and showing us step by step how to scrape and treat the koi with the marks, and what to do to keep getting them better and also helped us find the problem! (Even carried on regardless of the horrible weather). We also received an in depth email listing everything he advises to get to help us keep our koi at the top of their health!
All I can say is thank you dean for all your help! Worth every single penny, I can’t recommend you enough will be definitely contacting you if future problems arise.

What a fantastic service! I was in something of a panic having lost a fish which had died quite suddenly with another showing similar symptoms. I sent out an SOS to the Koi Clinic and Dean got in touch within a few hours. He was at my house (some 3 hours drive from where he’s based) two days later at 0830 in the morning and he had the problem sorted by lunchtime! He came with all his own equipment in order to test for every possible contaminent from Ammonia to Zinc and every parasite from Argulus to Whitespot (I’m not sure if there are any parasites beginning with X, Y or Z but I’m sure Dean would’ve tested for them in any event). His knowledge and expertise is superb and he shares this with you freely and without making you feel like an idiot (I’m very capable of doing that all by myself). Without Dean’s help I think I would have spent an enormous amount of time, effort and money trying to get to the bottom of what was going on, not succeeding and probably losing my entire stock of fish in the process. The Koi Clinic is worth every penny it costs you and then some – their charges are superb value!! If you have a problem with your pond or your fish you will not get a better value service anywhere else. Thanks again Dean ?

He visited our pond, observed the fish, inspected the water, took scrapes from a fish, sedated the sick fish and treated it, then started us off with treating the pond water too and left us with great instructions to complete the pond treatment cycle. Dean came to have a look at our pond today there was something not right and we couldn’t find the problem. After dean had done all his water checks that came back all ok the fish that looked to have problems dean looked at its gills and something didnt look right. Dean had to remove some stuff from the fishes gill and he put it under the microscope to see what was going on after a quick look he found chillo and there was quite alot of it straight away we put a treatment in and hopefully all the fish will be back to normal very soon. Deano visited today as i had been having a problem for some time that I couldnt put my finger on. Deano tested all water parameters which were all fine apart from slight traces of Chlorine and slightly low oxygen levels which he gave advice on moving forwards. Next onto the scrapes and Deano found white spot and Costia which I’d probably missed myself and also Flukes in low numbers. I had a home visit from The Koi Clinic last night.
